What’s in a Name?

KØJA takes its inspiration from the Swedish word “koja,” meaning “sanctuary” or “hut.” It reflects a place of peace and restoration, much like the calm and purity of the Finnish landscapes where our mushrooms are grown.

The Nordic "Ø" in our name isn’t part of the original spelling but is a deliberate design choice. It represents our commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship and Nordic-inspired simplicity. This design element is woven into everything we do—from our premium packaging to our modern website—reflecting the harmony, balance, and precision behind KØJA.

Our Story

KØJA was born from my own quest for wellness and the drive to help others achieve their best selves. When my Nan struggled with dementia, I explored the potential of Lion’s Mane for brain health and discovered its transformative power. This deeply personal experience ignited my passion to bring the world premium functional mushrooms with uncompromising quality.

Our mushrooms are expertly crafted in Finland, where pristine natural conditions and sustainable practices set the standard for excellence. While the majority of our mushrooms are grown and sourced in Finland, we also collaborate with select farms across the EU to meet demand while maintaining our rigorous standards.

By keeping all production in Finland, we ensure every tincture reflects the purity, potency, and craftsmanship that define KØJA. Using only the 100% fruiting body—the purest and most potent part of the mushroom—we pair our meticulous sourcing with third-party testing to ensure unmatched quality in every bottle.
